One mind amongst billions -
But solo, a world of it’s own,
A single thought can inspire millions,
And a heart by a word alone.

Who can fathom how many times
We have used the word IF?
Within it’s power it stimulates minds,
And causes moods to shift.

If, broken down, what could it mean –
And independent forethought?
Or an abused door for self-esteem,
Or incalculable finesse we’re being taught?

Is it irresistible fascination-
Or imaginary fantasy?
Is it an illusional fixation-
Or individual flexibility?

I often wonder if I stayed free-
If I had not experienced injustice,
You would never have known of me,
And there would never have been an us.

Time to wonder if I were there,
Expressing thoughts I've been concealing;
And take my fingers and comb your hair,
And translate what my heart is feeling.

But whatever if insinuates –
However questionable its suggestion seem; Within its wonder my soul awakes,
If only, if it’s a dream…

John Reese (Rasikh’ – Abdul- Hakeem) poem

Deglamorized-or-missupposed

My name is not important!
Dandy has always been my casual style
Some have even called me a hobo of love, but,
What tramp stumbles upon a mastery of affections
That no other person has not already mastered?
OH! Here I go,
Not meaning to tie you off
With all these silly hang ups, but;
A wheelbarrow full of nuts makes
More sense than empty cardboard boxes.
Shall I find fame hopping trains?
In the derailment of who I am?
Since a picture is worth a thousand words,
Am I not better off keeping my mouth shut,
And allowing imagery to paint me skin deep?
Convict!
I heard some a calling
But I am only one crying in hunger.
Ignorant lot!
And to think a lack of knowledge is a crime,
Especially when ignorance of the law is no excuse. (Excepting that which can be brought)
But, how does ignorance earn anything,
Lest more know what to do with it?
For I am told that it cast money to be Politically mis-educated by someone,
So how then, can unschooled ignorance
Ever be wrong?
Maybe it is the dislike of enlightenment
That keeps them from seeing real worth,
And spitting out residual scum.
Acid reflux is a perfect example of Not having to swallow a bitter pill,
But truth will not spew forth
From tabooed bitten lips.
For even justice!
An often-ranted pontificated message
That is intentionally misconstrued to fool those
Of us accused of being ignorant.
Punning around in the fact that
Justice stands for, just them, and not, just us.
Meaning has lost its appeal
For how else can sight alone lessen a man?
Belittlement has no home of its own
And can only be found resting on
The roof on an untamed tongue!
Until its own voice is heard,
Fleeing from the glory of glamour’s cage…
