You know when you have all these plans and they never turn out the way you pictured it? I was going to share with you my lovely cat Rude being at his very best..- Real Christmas like and everything, since he’s been kinda sorta very obnoxious at times, or downright disrespectful to the highest powers in this country, so I figured you should see him from his best behavior.. Something like the picture above….Well…. as I said, sometimes the real world is not like the picture perfect one we want it to be, and to be honest with you, Rude is not one to play make believe.. So here you go… He’s been exactly like this ever since the election.
So on second thought I think I will just leave him to his own corner and his pussy mood and leave you guys to deal with him. You know… having a man to man talk. (he scares the living daylight out of me sometimes)
And Christmas is nearing again, and now more than ever, we should be grateful for faith, and a loving merciful God, because frankly, I couldn’t have walked this walk without my best friend whose birthday we are once again celebrating in a few days. The world has been a scary place for a very long time, but never have I felt this kind of hopelessness among people I know to be “fighters”. Without faith it can be so hard to be on the right side of the fence when outwardly it seems that being on the wrong side is where all the benefits and rewards are, and with no consequences in sight for the wrongdoers. I do take some sort of comfort in the fact that one day we all have to answer and take responsibility for our actions. And money won’t help anyone once we arrive at our final destination.
Anyway, it is so very important we do believe in a higher power and a higher purpose to keep our grounding, regardless by which name we cry out to our God.

Our book program has now existed for a year and 130 books have been shipped to UCI and FSP - even a few magazine subscriptions on top of that.
And at the risk of ticking him off even more, I should inform you that up until now, Rude is the one who has taken out of his allowance to pay for all the books, sacrificing a fair amount of vodka bottles I should add. He is also the one kicking me when I lose it, and one of the backbones in FDRAG, as is Karin Elsea and Dianne. Cheyenne and Xenia, Nel and Wilma, Sue and Lotte, Roxanne and many more I cannot remember from the top of my head. Thanks to everyone who makes it all possible.
We have already received several requests for help with the hobby crafts. We forgot to ask of you to send a bank statement along with it (some did, anyway.) We need to know if we can just deposit money to your account or if we have to use other routes to help you out.
Hundreds of Christmas cards have already been sent to UCI and FSP, and more are on the way. So please do not hesitate to ask; we have so many wonderful people helping out this year that we have enough for all that asks.
We still have some CD cards from last year in Spanish, which can be requested. The card will then be sent to you, and you can return it to us, with a greeting inside the card and the address for your loved one on the envelope. We will then add the CD that goes with the card and send it for you. Some of the CDs are in Spanish, some instrumental but all really nice. You can of course do it even if you are not Spanish speaking. We are having another meeting with Region director Carter first week of December, and will bring up the crocheting needles/yarn so many of you are asking about; the main reason for the meeting, though, is still our goal to get a separate death row library so the options to send books will be much better and give you more to chose from. So keep your fingers crossed, say a prayer, and have faith that it will happen.
God bless you all, and please know that the Baby we are celebrating this month will one day return with nothing in his heart but forgiveness, mercy and love for us all. Merry Christmas - Hannah
